Vintage Hairstyling - 2nd ed

Now in stock!

Now 200 pages long (1st ed was 164 pages), there are loads more hairstyles from the 30s, 40s, 50s and 60s, including 30s spit curls, the "happy pomp" (main photo on the cover), tips for girls with "Bettie bangs" as well as Marcel wave methods, rag rollers and steam rollers. Includes the classic Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's 'do and a fabulous beehive. Even if you have the 1st ed, it's worth treating yourself!

This is a fantastic book for anyone who's ever battled with curling tongs and wondered why they haven't come out the other end looking like Betty Grable.

With clear, step-by-step instructions, Lauren explains how to use tongs and different kinds of rollers and how to master the pin curl. Then she shows you how to achieve some fantastic 40s and 50s hairdos - victory rolls, waves and pompadours, the fake fringe (bangs) then more than twenty hairstyles called things like "The Vixen", "The Casino Wife" and "For The Boys." If that wasn't enough, there's tips on accessorising with scarves, flowers, snoods and hats, how to do a "Rosie Riveter" and then advice on how to achieve vinage make-up looks.

All-in-all, this is an absolutely invaluable book for anyone wanting to compliment their vintage-style dress with a vintage-style 'do.
